Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information WeatherCore, Inc. ("WeatherCore," "we," "us") collects through the WeatherCore API and dashboard (together, the "Service"), and how we use it.
1. Information we collect
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Account information | Name, email, company name, password (hashed) |
| Billing information | Handled by our payment processor — we do not store full card numbers |
| API usage data | Endpoints called, request volume, timestamps, response status, the coordinates or location queried |
| Technical data | IP address, browser type, device information, from dashboard access |
2. How we use this information
- To operate the Service — authenticate requests, enforce plan limits, and return forecast data
- To bill for paid plans and licenses
- To provide support and respond to inquiries
- To monitor for abuse, fraud, or activity that violates our Terms of Use
- To improve reliability and performance of the Service
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use API request content (such as the coordinates you query) to build profiles for advertising.
3. Sharing
We share information with a limited set of service providers who help us run the Service — hosting and infrastructure providers, a payment processor, and email delivery for transactional messages. These providers are bound by contract to use the data only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the security of the Service.
4. Data retention
Account information is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for legal and billing purposes. API request logs are retained for a limited window for abuse detection and debugging, then aggregated or deleted.
5. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and routine review of who can access production systems. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@weathercore.org. We'll respond within a reasonable time.
7. International transfers
WeatherCore is a U.S. company and processes data primarily in the United States. If you're accessing the Service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.
8. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for businesses and developers and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated effective date.
